School visits and Teaching

Roves Farm is a working farm open to the public. It is situated at the foot of the Wiltshire Downs, on the banks of the River Cole. Its varied soils, farming methods, wildlife habitats, facilities and experienced staff make it an ideal place for people to visit to expand their knowledge, put ideas into practice and have fun.

Facilities
Roves Farm boasts classroom areas, displays, toilets (including disabled), ample car parking for several coaches, tea room and shop, indoor eating area, barn, tractor and trailer rides, meadows, crops, woodlands, river and ponds and of course, lots of farm animals! The patio and play area are popular in the summer.

Every effort has been made to make the farm accessible to all.

Education Policy
Most topics can be taught at Roves Farm. Each will be planned to ensure pupils have the opportunity to investigate situations for themselves to make classroom theories come to life. An environmental awareness will be fostered with all visitors.

Teaching Expertise
Our trained staff can make your topics come alive. All teaching is based on the National Curriculum from key stages 1 - 4 covering every subject. Every school visit is planned in partnership with school teachers to ensure the pupils visit is worthwhile and fun.
